Bill Frisell was commissioned to create this suite for electric guitar and string trio as part of an art book about the famous German painter Gerhard Richter.
The 858 Quartet features Frisell on guitars with Hank Roberts (cello), Eyvind Kang (viola) and Jenny Scheinman (violin). The same players are part of Frisell's latest Nonesuch project, Unspeakable. An enhanced hybrid stereo SACD with Windows/Mac CD-ROM programme on the CD playable on all players.
