Ugo! is a work all dedicated to Ugo Calise
Ugo Calise (1921 - 1994) was a singer, guitarist, composer, lyricist, author and arranger who was very famous in the fifties and sixties. He is considered - with Renato Carosone - one of the most important composers and innovators in the history of Neapolitain popular music.
Stefano Russo was taught by him and is considered - from musical critics and historians - his artistical heir.
The trumpet/flugenhorn in the tracks 11, 12, 14, is by Cicci Santucci, one of the best Italian solists, often playing and recording with the great Ennio Morricone!
